B&W Celebrates Lunar New Year
February 12 marks the 2021 Lunar New Year, and B&W is encouraging people to get in the spirit by sharing recipes for traditional Asian dishes.
This holiday, introducing 2021 as The Year of the Ox and celebrated by more than 1.5 billion people around the world, marks the first new moon of the lunisolar calendar. Traditional to many east Asian countries including China, Vietnam and South Korea, the lunar year is the time it takes to complete 12 full cycles of the moon.
The multi-day celebration is filled with events, family gatherings, feasts and of course the color red, symbolizing luck. A cornerstone concept of the holiday revolves around attracting fortune into the next year while protecting against bad fortune.
Observe this annual tradition by cooking up some Asian cuisine with friends and family. Some of our favorite dishes include hot pot, watercress & pork pot stickers, watercress soup and classic watercress stir fry.
If you try out one of our recipes, be sure to tag us on social. B&W wishes you all the best of luck in 2021!
