CEO: Mark DeLeo
Mark’s first introduction to B&W dates to 2001, when he was brought in as a business advisor to help refine the strategy and improve quality and operational performance. Mark joined the B&W advisory board in 2010 and, in 2012, became CEO. Prior to joining B&W, Mark had a successful 25-year business advisory career working with startups to Fortune 100 companies and serving in a variety of capacities, from a business advisory role to interim management positions of President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Restructuring Officer. Mark began his business advisory career in the late 1980s, spending 10 years with Proudfoot-Crosby Consulting, an international leader in productivity and quality management consulting. His focus the 10 years prior to joining B&W involved working with PE firms and banks, successfully completing over 20 assignments. Mark has significant international experience, working in North America, Central America, Asia, and Europe. Mark serves on the Board of Directors/Advisory Board for companies in the healthcare, agriculture, and education industries.
COO: Tim May
Tim May joined B&W in 2023. Prior to joining B&W, Tim was the co-founder and managing partner of a national advisory firm specializing in financial restructuring, operational turnaround, due diligence, and interim management services across a broad range of industries to private equity groups, lenders, and stakeholders. He has served as CEO, COO, President, Director, and Advisor in companies ranging from $10MM to $500MM in revenue and in a variety of industries, including general manufacturing, healthcare, aviation, IT services, software, construction, higher education, financial services, transportation, logistics, plastics, lighting, and building technology. Tim started his career with the IBM Corporation, holding several sales and management positions.
CFO: James McKenna
James McKenna has served B&W as its Chief Financial Officer since 2015. Prior to joining B&W, James spent 11 years as the Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Controller of Forward Industries, Inc., a NASDAQ-listed designer and distributor of mobile device cases and accessories. Prior to that, James spent a year with Medalist Developments, a real estate development company, as its Assistant Controller, and over 6 years as an auditor with Ernst and Young LLP, one of the largest professional service firms in the world. James is an active Certified Public Accountant.
Executive VP of Sales: Todd Gosule
Todd Gosule joined B&W in 2010 and is the Executive Vice President of Sales. Todd has served in various sales and marketing positions in the produce industry for over 30 years. Early in his career, he was the Director of Sales and National Marketing Manager for Chiquita, where he worked for 10 years. After leaving Chiquita, Todd worked as National Director of Sales for CHEP, National Sales Director for Nurserymen’s Exchange, Regional Sales Manager for Dole Food Company, and started his own company, Gosule Food Service, Inc. Todd currently serves on the Board of Directors for various produce industry-related associations.
VP of Farming Operations: Cesar Rosero
Cesar Rosero has been in the agricultural business for over 16 years and joined B&W in 2008. Early in his career, he was the Production Manager for Inflorex, a cut flowers export company, where he worked for 7 years. After leaving Ecuador, he worked as a Ground Coordinator for Aramark. Cesar has an Agronomy degree from El Zamorano in Honduras and a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture from Louisiana State University.
Director of Human Resources: Angie Radock
Angie Radock joined the B&W team in 2011 and serves as the Director of Human Resources and H-2A Compliance. She brings over 15 years of HR experience to B&W. Some of her areas of expertise include employee relations, investigations, performance management, federal and immigration policies, and regulations. In addition, she manages all aspects of the H-2A Program. Prior to B&W, Angie had been in the healthcare industry. She began her career in Home Health Care as an HR Coordinator, primarily focusing on recruiting, staffing, and employee compensation. Angie later moved on to a role as an HR Generalist for a non-profit Community Health Center. There, she handled all aspects of Human Resources Administration, including Foreign Employment Immigration. She is very familiar with diverse cultures, compensation, training, recruitment, policy development, and benefits administration.
Angie currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association, as well as their Advocacy and Workforce Committees. In addition, has served on the Board of Directors for The National Council of Agricultural Employers.
Director of Quality and Food Safety: Chris Burgr
Chris Burgr’s career started with a college summer job at Pace Dairy, a Kroger company. He learned basic food safety and became familiar with food processing methods and equipment there. After graduating from Minnesota State University, Mankato, with a BS in Biotechnology, he interned for Seneca Foods as a microbiology lab technician. He then acquired his first full-time job at LeSueur Cheese Company in a similar but expanded role in their microbiology laboratory.
After leaving the dairy industry, he worked as a Shift Chemist for Cargill’s corn milling facility in Eddyville, IA. He then transferred to their Blair, NE facility as a Project Chemist and an Analytical Instrumentation Specialist. Eventually, he moved to Port St. Lucie, FL, to lead their Dressings and Sauces QA Laboratory as a QA Manager. In 2010, Chris joined B&W Quality Growers as their VAP QA Manager. Since then, he took on the roles of Operations Manager, Florida Plant Manager, and now full circle back to quality and food safety as Director of Quality and Food Safety.
Director of Marketing: Ruth Bozeman
Ruth Bozeman joined B&W Quality Growers in 2022. She brings over 22 years of leadership and experience in the marketing space. Her knowledge and experience with organizations like ESPN, LifeTime Fitness, Nutrition Smart, and System One have all led her to B&W, where she’s leading a team to grow the business in brand recognition and market share. Ruth currently serves on the board of several charities, sustainability research projects, and nutritional coaching programs.
Ruth has published numerous watercress publications and has been featured in several publications like The Today Show, Shape Magazine, and At Home.
Director of Research & Development: Mario Gutierrez
Mario Gutierrez gained a Doctoral degree in Crop Science at Oklahoma State University in 2009 and joined B&W’s team in 2011. Mario has broad experience as a researcher in academia and the private sector, with over 25 years in Crop Physiology, Remote Sensing, Phytopathology, and Water Quality. He has published more than 40 scientific articles. Furthermore, Mario has reviewed several international scientific journals in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Plant Operations Manager: Eddie Agosto
Eddie Agosto joined B&W in 2022 with over 22 years of progressive experience in Food and beverage and operations management. Successful background managing production, distribution, logistics, and facility management teams. His skills in developing and implementing strategic process improvements that increase efficiency, lower costs, and improve safety standards while reducing overall plant costs. Eddie is is a leader who inspires confidence and builds commitment to deliver world-class service.
Tennessee Plant Manager: Jeremy Amacher
Jeremy Amacher joined B&W in 2016 with over 20 years of experience in supervision and project management. Jeremy’s background managing industrial and commercial construction formed his widespread skillset – including heavy equipment operation, structural work, drainage design, plumbing and electrical – that lend to his successful facility management. Jeremy is an undeniable asset as he has and continues to improves plant efficiencies and facility safety.
Senior Advisor: Dr. Steve Rothwell
Dr. Steve Rothwell serves the B&W Quality Growers team as a Senior Advisor and a leading expert in the watercress and leafy greens business with over 35 years in this industry.
Dr. Rothwell earned his Ph.D. in nutritional and environmental physiology of watercress. He joined Vitacress in 1983 and remained with the company until his retirement in 2014. Dr. Rothwell was actively involved in all facets of the business and helped grow the company from $3 million to $50 million in sales. In addition, he’s been a significant contributor to over 20 research programs centered on crop sustainability, food safety, and the nutritional value of watercress, including anticancer properties.
Dr. Rothwell sits on numerous boards, including the University of Southampton Biological Sciences external advisory board, the Vice Chair of NFU Watercress Growers Association, and the Technical Advisory Panel to Conservation Grade Farming.
He has published numerous articles on watercress and appeared in several interviews on the BBC.
