Ming Tsai Visited Dr. Oz to Reveal Your Re-Leaf to Bland Greens

March is nutrition month, so we are going back to when Ming Tsai helped introduce Dr. Oz and his viewers to the most nutritious leafy green on the planet.

Kale has been riding a wave of popularity, but there is another green that is just as healthy, more flavorful, and ready for its closeup: watercress! Recently Dr. Oz welcomed chef Ming Tsai to help inform his guests on the powerful cancer-fighting properties of watercress, and cook up delicious ways to add more of it to your diet.

After reviewing all the health benefits of the two supergreens, and discussing watercress’s superior flavor, they tried some of Ming’s favorite dishes. They kicked off the tasting with a Pineapple Watercress Smoothie, a great way to start your day or provide an afternoon pick-me-up. Then they moved onto a zesty Watercress Salad with a simple lemon vinaigrette. Ming even introduced Dr. Oz to eating salad with chopsticks. The tasting segment concluded with Ming’s “other-wordly” Watercress Artichoke Dip, perfect for entertaining.

Show favorite Rhenotha Whitaker joined Ming and Oz to help prepare his Crazy Chicken Watercress Stir-Fry. It cooks in minutes leaving no excuses to add it to your weeknight dinner rotation. When they tasted the dish, Rhenotha let Ming know he “put his foot in it,” which is a good thing.

As more people discover the zesty flavor and unsurpassed nutrition watercress offers, don’t be surprised to find it served at your next meal. Or, try one of Ming’s recipes to share with family and friends. During nutrition month and beyond, plan to cast watercress for a starring role in your diet.
